This piece was commissioned by Thomas Leslie, who serves as the Director of Bands at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), specifically for the notable musicians Eric Marienthal, Mitch Forman, Kevin Axt, and Bernie Dresel. "Banzai Pipe," this 27-minute jazz fusion epic showcases a vibrant blend of a traditional jazz quartet with the dynamic and powerful instrumentation characteristic of a Wind Band.
